Andrea Villa and Roshni Marballi, directors of ACM, had their hands full as children gathered around to learn how to make masks. The mask booth seemed to be a popular activity choice as children happily decorated their masks with stickers and glitter. “We came up with the idea of masks because they’re cute and it would be easy to match their costumes,” said Marballi and Villa.
Ashley Capps, a UF junior and ACM member, led an exciting hangman game with the senior citizens. “This is my first time at Sterling House and it has a different atmosphere but I’ve really enjoyed this experience. ACM is great because you can help the community in a fun way,” said Capps. Prizes were offered to the winners and the senior citizens had a good laugh as they tried to guess the correct words.
This is ACM’s second time at Sterling House this semester; ACM put on a talent show last weekend as well and were happy to return and bring more smiles to the children and senior citizens.
ACM will continue putting their creative minds to work to help others in the community so look out for future events!
