The highlight of the meeting was our keynote speaker, Dr. John A. Podlaski. Dr. Podlaski is licensed in Chiropractic Medicine and certified in Medical Acupuncture, with a vast amount of recognition and awards to his name. Dr. Podlaski spoke about health and integrative medicine.
“If you treat your health today, you won’t have to treat your disease tomorrow” said Dr. Podlaski in his in-depth presentation on health.
“I think it’s great that there are so many students that want to be doctors,” said Dr. Podlaski. “We need more doctors that really care about their patients. That doctor-patient relationship needs to be established.”
Students were inspired and captivated by Dr. Podlaski’s presentation. To the right AMSA member, Elizabeth Hatch is pictured with Dr. Podlaski.
“I found it very informative and thought-provoking. It opened my eyes to another world of medicine,” said AMSA member Nick Colaluca, first year microbiology major.
John, from the Princeton Review, also came to speak about MCAT Prep course being given at the Princeton Review. Students were given a chance to enter to win a free MCAT course. John asked general questions about the MCAT. If students answered questions correctly the won prizes such as free prep books.
The AMSA meeting was a major success thanks to all of our hard-working directors, board members and inspirational guest speaker, Dr. Podlaski. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 9th at 7:30 p.m. in the HPNP Auditorium. You don’t want to miss it!
